John Mattson served as the Director of the Career Development Center at the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, at the School of Business, at UC-Riverside, for the past seven years. John is now serving as the CEO & Career Coach of Career Coach Consultants, LLC, an online career management consulting firm located in Southern California.
Prior to UCR, John was the Director of the Career Center at The Actors Fund in Los Angeles, where he advised professionals in the entertainment industry. Previously, John was the Senior Associate Director of the Executive MBA Program at The Wharton School, at its San Francisco campus. He was Founding Director of the Feld Career Center at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, and served for many years as the Director of Career Services at The Fletcher School, a leading graduate school of international relations, at Tufts University.
Throughout his career, John has moderated over 200 career panels with leading industry experts from the Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury, as well as the United Nations and The World Bank. He has moderated career panels at companies such as Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., 60 Minutes at CBS News, ExxonMobil, McKinsey & Company, and the Screen Actors Guild. He has also been a guest speaker at Georgetown, Harvard, and Oxford universities. John has been a consultant on projects at AT&T, New York Life, NEC Technologies, H&R Block, United Technologies Corporation, and Deluxe Entertainment. John is a graduate of Boston University and Tufts University, where he received his master’s degree in counseling. He also completed the Co-Active Fundamentals course through the Co-Active Training Institute.
Career Coach Consultants, LLC, provides career testing and assessment services, resume editing, job search coaching, interview preparation, and mock interviews. John and his team of career coaches also provide retirement/lifestyle planning.
John enjoys Golf, the arts, architecture, travel, and exploring the vineyards of California. In the past, he served on the board of the United Nations Association of Greater Boston, and as a trustee of Dublin School in New Hampshire. He and his wife reside in Southern California.

Raj Singh, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Dr. Singh graduated with a BS in Engineering from the University of Allahabad, India and completed a Master of Engineering in Industrial Development & Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. After completing graduate work in Thailand, he taught in India for one year and then immigrated to United States. He attended University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California where he completed the Degree of Engineer in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Policy Planning and Administration. Additionally, he earned an Executive Certificate in Leadership and Management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Dr. Singh has been employed in professional engineering and managerial positions and served as a consultant for several large organizations such as Rockwell, Northrop, ITT, Litton, Hunter Industries and the County of Los Angeles. He has taught at the graduate and undergraduate level for over 25 years and has been a faculty member in the School of Business at the University of California, Riverside for over fifteen years. In addition, Dr. Singh has taught Ph.D. level courses in strategy, statistical research, operations management, organizational behavior and human resource management for other major universities in United States. During his teaching career, he has chaired over 25 doctoral dissertations. Dr. Singh is Founder of La Sierra Group based in Riverside, California.
Dr. Singh has co-authored a textbook in Crime Analysis and has published several articles in the field of management. He served as an Editor-in-Chief of a management journal published by Hope International University and has been a reviewer for other journals. His experience includes lecturing in China, France, India, Philippines and Hungary.
Raj is involved in community and civic affairs and serves as a commissioner on the Planning Commission for the City of Riverside. In his leisure time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading biographies, and international travel, often giving lectures to educators.

Soo Yoon
Senior Consultant
Soo Yoon is a senior executive in the Hotel & Resorts industry with nearly 20 years of experience, primarily in concept development and construction, general management, and sales and marketing. Soo Yoon brings a broad wealth of experience in the hospitality sector to her role as Managing Director of Asian Luxury Hospitality. Soo is known for entrepreneurial vision and translating vision into revenue generation and productivity, thriving in a diverse and fast paced executive environment. Soo has had experience building and restructuring sales organizations to maximize productivity and restructuring operations departments to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
For the past four years, Soo has been working as a Deputy General Manager/Commercial Leader for Shangri-La’s flagship, mixed-use, complex in Mongolia where Soo has been responsible for managing the Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage Promotions, Spa, Sports Club, and Rooms departments for the luxury Hotel & Private Residences.
Prior to joining Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Soo held several senior executive positions including Vice President and Managing Director, working directly with owners/investors on many hotel projects in Hawaii, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Maldives. There, Soo oversaw the strategic planning and development of multiple hotel investment opportunities including the redevelopment of Vive Hotel Waikiki. Soo spearheaded the renovation of the 150-room lifestyle boutique hotel—from concept development to construction, from design to operations, from branding to marketing, and from management to each customer’s experience and satisfaction.
Soo Yoon has also held senior level executive positions in Sales & Marketing and revenue management for Banyan Tree, Hyatt and Marriott International in Asia and the United States. Her roles in these positions included financial planning, pre-opening strategic planning, branding, managing strategic partnerships, development of an annual business and marketing plan, management of key sales accounts, recruitment and management of operations & marketing team, development of hotel loyalty programs and more.
Soo attended high school in California and received her bachelor’s degree from the Questrom School of Business, at Boston University, after majoring in International Management & Marketing. In her leisure time she enjoys Golf, the Arts, Classical Music, Jazz, Mongolian stringed-instrument music, Architecture, Surfing, Wine, International cultures, and travel. Being multicultural and multilingual -- English and Korean – Soo has recently been learning Japanese & Chinese. She once considered attending the Julliard School of Music as a classical violinist and cellist; however, she still enjoys these instruments.

Chandra Caldwell
Senior Consultant
Chandra Caldwell graduated with a BA in International Business and a minor in China Studies from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed a MA in Communication Management from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. The graduate program helped Chandra continue to develop a range of skills including branding strategy, organizational development, strategic marketing and communication, and qualitative and quantitative research.
For the past four years, Chandra has worked in higher education for the University of Southern California. She has been responsible for managing the Communication and Marketing efforts at an international research center and helping students studying abroad. As an undergraduate, Chandra studied abroad in China and Australia, which was a transformational experience. Making studying abroad a reality for others is something she values and promotes.
At the International Research center while overseeing the Center’s robust event programming she spearheaded an initiative to go green by helping the center reduce its waste and move to sustainable compostable products for their many events.
Before USC, Chandra worked for a decade as an actor. Working as an actress was a joy and something to cross off her bucket list having acted in commercials, independent films, and voice-overs in New York and California.
Prior to acting, Chandra worked in Advertising as an Analyst and Negotiator. Working in advertising right after college exposed Chandra to the many different facets of working in an agency and strengthened her negotiation skills, which she has used when negotiating salary offers and negotiating with vendors in her current position.
In her leisure time, Chandra enjoys reading, painting, and running. She finds running first thing in the morning the key to a great day, by starting the morning strong. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband and their dog, Moose.

Peter Gascoyne
Senior Consultant
Peter Gascoyne has been a consultant for over 30 years and was a senior consultant for eight years with Arthur D. Little, an international management consulting firm, founded in 1886 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At ADL, Peter worked on assignments for companies such as Chrysler, Quaker Oats, and Goldman Sachs.
Peter has been president of his own firm, Economic Modeling Solutions, for the past 25 years. Throughout his career, he has consulted in many fields including manufacturing, retail, trade, food, and environmental services, with a focus on the banking and insurance industries. For seven years, he was a consultant and senior analyst with American Family Insurance in Madison, Wisconsin.
Peter is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied Political Science. He received his master’s degree in Economics from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in International Economics from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Peter is an avid reader, enjoys golf, and as a keen walker is nearing completion of an effort to walk all the streets and bike paths of Madison Wisconsin, where he resides with his family.

Heidi Cuthbertson
Senior Consultant
Heidi Cuthbertson joined Ball Aerospace in January of 2019 to lead the campus relations strategy, university recruiting and summer intern program. She is responsible for developing relationships with university partners across the US to build a bright, diverse pipeline of early career talent for the company. In addition to her work at Ball, Heidi currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance, the global professional organization for graduate business career services professionals and employers.
Prior to her work at Ball, Heidi spent five years at the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California Riverside as the Associate Director of Graduate Career Development. She specialized in employer outreach, career coaching, and workshop development and instruction.
Previous roles included leading the college recruiting team at the mortgage finance giant Freddie Mac in McLean, VA, and Assistant Director of Admissions at both Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and American University in Washington, DC.
Heidi is also the founder of Intelligent Etiquette, a company which provides professional etiquette training to various audiences. An established trainer and facilitator, she has designed and taught courses on many subjects, including behavioral interviewing, financial literacy, resume development, business dining etiquette and executive presence.
Heidi holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Colgate University and a Master of Education in Higher Education from Penn State. In her spare time, she teaches Jazzercise and enjoys skiing, hiking and anything else outdoors.

Jefferson Hammann
Senior Consultant
Jefferson Hammann has worked in senior levels throughout supply chain for more than 20 years, from government through retail and ecommerce sectors. He is currently VP, Enterprise Transportation and Logistics, with The Pasha Group of San Rafael, CA. Previously, he was Director of Transportation with H-E-B Grocery Company in Houston, Texas, our nation’s top-ranked grocery retailer in multiple consumer analytics reviews. Jefferson’s current professional focus is strategic change management, through modernization in transportation, aligning stakeholders to achieve optimization and efficiencies through network centralization in “One Fleet” operations. Prior to H-E-B, he joined Coupang LLC in Seoul, Korea’s premier ecommerce retailer, where he directed all middle mile 3PL transportation contracting as well as segments of last mile delivery.
Jefferson started both his leadership and supply chain career as a U.S. Army Officer, where he received his commission as a Second Lieutenant, Ordnance Corps. While on active-duty, Jefferson served and led soldiers throughout multiple assignments in Korea and Kansas before transitioning to corporate supply chain, where he accepted an Operations Management role with Walmart Transportation. Several promotions led to a General Manager role in California, directing a major terminal in store and vendor centralized operations throughout the southwestern region. As a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, he was called to active-duty for one year in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), where he conducted logistics operations across multiple countries, including work with the Department of State in U.S. Embassy operations.
After returning to Walmart, Jefferson continued his General Manager career, before promoting to a Senior Director role with Walmart Supply Chain, assuming responsibility for all third-party logistics (3PL) grocery supply chain in central and southern California, as well as offshore intermodal logistics in support of the Hawaii and Alaska markets.
Jefferson has also taught business classes at Porterville College and Cal State San Bernardino; he has served there, and at UC-Riverside, on business advisory boards. Jefferson received his B.A. in East Asian Studies from The Pennsylvania State University, having further studied the Korean language at Yonsei University in Seoul. He completed his MBA at Florida State University.
Jefferson currently resides with his family north of Dallas. In his leisure time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as water events and hiking; he also enjoys reading and developing his bagpiping skills.
